What Is Psychotherapy?

PLEASE NOTE: My practice is currently closed until further notice and I am not accepting clients at this time. Thank you.

Psychotherapy — also known as talk therapy — is a place of self-discovery. It is a space where, non-judgementally and compassionately, the psychotherapist walks beside the client on their healing journey, offering guidance and support. Psychotherapy allows the client to expand their mental, physical, and spiritual awareness as they learn to trust self again. Often, psychotherapy is a site of profound personal growth involving the recognition of old patterns, the exploration of new ones, and the honouring of this sacred process.

Asking for help can be the most difficult step. Society teaches us that we must be self-reliant, that we have failed somehow if we reach out to others. I encourage this reaching out: in our vulnerability, there is strength.

My Approach

With 10 years of experience and extensive training, I treat individuals of diverse backgrounds seeking help for depression, anxiety, self-esteem, major life transitions, and parenting support, to name a few. My theoretical background is eclectic, combining relational, trauma-informed, and client-centered therapy. Above all, my approach is warm, trusting, and emotionally attuned to my clients.

If you are considering psychotherapy and are interested in my services, please contact me to book a free consultation. I look forward to hearing from you!
